The Longest Married Gay Couple in the U.S. Reflects on That Moment 48 Years Ago: WATCH

Jack Baker and Mike McConnell, who obtained a marriage license in Blue Earth County, Minnesota in 1971 because the state’s laws did not explicitly say that marriage had to be between a man and a woman, hold the title of the longest-married gay couple in the United States.

Baker and McConnell are reflecting on that moment in a new clip from Minnesota local station WCCO.
