Grindr thieves ‘drugged and robbed gay men’ in chilling plot, police say

A man has been arrested at Gatwick Airport as part of an investigation into London thieves using Grindr to drug and steal from victims they met on the app.

The Metropolitan Police said they arrested a 29-year-old man at the airport on suspicion of aggravated burglary. The arrest was made in connection with four men – aged between 32 and 55 – who lost consciousness after being given a “noxious substance”.

The suspect is alleged to have used the popular dating app Grindr to meet men.

The Met received four reports of burglaries in several parts of London between 31 December and 9 January.

Two original suspects, who’d been thought to have left the country, reportedly met the victims in person after chatting on the same-sex dating app.

The police advised Grindr users to ensure their own personal safety before meeting up with anyone they had chatted to.

This included tips on hiding valuables, keeping an eye on any alcohol during the met-up and telling a friend about planned arrangements.

“We believe other victims may have been targeted,” detective superintendent Dan O’Sullivan said. However, for personal reasons, [they] may not have wanted to report it.

“If you have been a victim, you can report in confidence to us or speak to an officer from the LGBTQ+ community.”

Rand Paul’s wife is losing her sh*t on Twitter right now over some drag queens she invented in her mind

Rand Paul’s anti-LGBTQ wife, Kelley, is losing it on Twitter again. This time, she’s up early rage-tweeting about imaginary drag queens infiltrating American classrooms.

“You’d think after being shut out of school for nearly two years and having the lowest test scores in decades, American kids would have some catching up to do in the classroom,” 59-year-old Paul tweeted at 6:08 AM this morning. “Instead they’re bringing in the drag queens.”

Of course, she didn’t cite any sources or provide any evidence or statistics to support her claims (probably because she fabricated the whole thing in her mind), but that didn’t stop her 100K followers from blindly accepting her tweet as fact and running with it…

Not everyone fell for Kelley’s homophobic B.S., however…

This is hardly the first time Mrs. Paul has freaked out on Twitter about what goes on inside American classrooms. And, no, we’re not talking about mass shootings. We’re talking about LGBTQ+ people.

(Sad fact: There have been seven school shootings, so far, in 2023. She hasn’t tweeted about any of them.)

Last Transgender Day of Visibility, however, Paul was so triggered that she fired off a psychotic tweet ranting and raving about Chinese third graders, math, and men having babies.

“Chinese third graders are learning multi-variable calculus. Our third graders are being taught that ‘men can have babies.’ This will not end well,” she warned.

Then there was the time she learned about an elementary school in Austin, Texas that held a Pride parade for students and freaked out… one year after the fact.

“And the assistant principal expressly told the little kids not to tell their parents what happened in the ‘pride circles’,” Mrs. Paul tweeted a full year after the event took place.

And earlier this month, she compared peaceful Trans Lives Matter protesters in Oklahoma to the armed insurrectionists who stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6, resulting in the deaths of five people, millions of dollars in damages, and a literal trail of human fecal matter all over the polished marble floors.

“I’ve heard this is a federal crime punishable by up to 20 years in prison and grounds for indefinite pretrial detention,” she tweeted, along with a video of protestors gathered inside the Oklahoma state capitol building.

Brendan Fraser tearfully addresses Hollywood struggles in SAG Awards speech: ‘Bawling like a baby’

Brendan Fraser gave a powerful acceptance speech at the SAG Awards 2023, urging those who are struggling to “have courage”.

Fraser won the award for Male Actor in a Leading Role for his performance as Charlie in The Whale, which follows a reclusive 600-pound gay English teacher trying to reconnect with his daughter Ellie (Sadie Sink).

For many, his performance marked the beginning of a Brendan Fraser renaissance, although the film itself has faced some controversy.

The Mummy actor’s career tailed off over a decade ago – in 2018, he came forward with allegations that the former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), Philip Berk, groped him in 2003. He said it made him “retreat” (Berk has denied Fraser’s story).

Fraser addressed his rocky journey at the SAG Awards.

He kicked off his speech joking that Sir Ian McKellen had told him to “be good, be brief and be seated”.

Things soon turned emotional as he thanked SAG for making him “feel like I belonged”.

“As actors, we all want to belong to a tribe and that’s when I found where I belong. And if you told that guy back then that I’d be standing right here right now, I would not have believed you,” he said.

After thanking director Darren Aronofsky and writer Samuel D. Hunter, he turned his attention to the room, and to those facing their own struggles to within the industry.

“[Charlie is] someone who is on a raft of regrets, but he’s in a sea of hope. And I’ve been at that sea and I rode that wave lately and it’s been powerful and good, and I’ve also had that wave smash me down to the ocean floor and dragged my face along there and wound up on some strange beach in a different world and wondering, where am I now,” he said, through tears.

“And I just want you to know … all the actors out there who have gone through that or are going through that, I know how you feel. Believe me, if you just stay in there and you put one foot in front of the other, you’ll get to where you need to go. Have courage.”

Brendan Fraser’s SAG Awards speech touched many, who also shared their joy at him finally getting his flowers.

“Brendan Fraser winning the SAG Award for best performance by an actor last night is so heartwarming, now he needs the Oscar,” one person wrote.

Another added: “Brendan Fraser is… making me love Hollywood again, he’s so talented, and he seems like a truly nice guy. He deserves all the awards and to win the Oscar.”

Also on the night, Michelle Yeoh won the SAG Awards for Female Actor in a Leading Role, dedicating her award to “every little girl that looks like me”.

The SAG Award is Brendan Fraser’s second win this season, following his success as the Critics Choice Awards. He also received his first ever Oscar nomination for his performance in The Whale.

Fraser notably refused to attend the 2023 Golden Globe Awards, put together by HFPA, due to the historic allegations against Philip Berk.

The HFPA has said an investigation found Berk “inappropriately touched” Fraser, but that it was meant as a joke. Berk has denied wrongdoing and remained president of HFPA until 2021, when he was expelled over an email that described Black Lives Matter as a “racist hate movement”.

Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza’s SAG Awards chemistry has sent the internet into a tailspin

Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza teamed up to present at the SAG Awards last night (26 February), and their chemistry has fans begging Hollywood for a movie.

Taking to the stage to present the Best Male Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries award together, it became immediately obvious that the pair have the exact same brooding, impassive energy.

“I don’t know why they paired us up together,” said The White Lotus star Plaza, as Ortega surveyed the room with a stone-cold expression.

“I know, we have nothing in common,” the Wednesday actress replied, managing to deliver the line without a hint of irony. Speaking in unison, the duo continued: “We should find the people who did this and curse their families and watch as misoftune follows their bloodline for the next seven generations.”

“Ok, I see it now,” Plaza said, receiving one of the evening’s biggest laughs from the star-studded audience.

At home, the audience reaction was equally unanimous: when is Hollywood going to case these two icons in a hilarious but murderous TV series?

“See, now this is just simply superb,” one person wrote on social media. “If every studio isn’t trying to write something for these two together right now then they have f****d up.”

“Cast them together now,” and “they need to do a series together” were the two main, undivided opinions on the Internet, but some fans were a little more specific in what they wanted to see the pair star in.

“Them in a revenge movie would be crazy,” one person said, while another demanded: “Give me a movie with these two, Brie Larson and Natasha Lyonne and we got blockbuster gold.”

“Give me a movie with them and Elizabeth Olsen,” another ordered, while one fan suggested Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza should take over from Jimmy Kimmel as this year’s Oscar hosts.

Others were simply going wild for how the pair looked on stage together, in all their deadpan and frankly gay glory.

“I’ve never felt more represented (Latinx, queer, monotone and cursing a family for generations),” shared one fan.

“I have a type and I’m not afraid to say it,” wrote another.

The SAG Awards saw Everything Everywhere All At Once break the record for the highest number of wins in one night at the ceremony, with the film’s lead actress Michelle Yeoh becoming the first Asian winner in the Female Actor in a Leading Role category.

Elon Musk accuses media of racism after newspapers drop ‘Dilbert’ cartoon

(Reuters) – Billionaire Elon Musk on Sunday accused the media of being racist against whites and Asians after U.S. newspapers dropped a white comic strip author who made derogatory comments about Black Americans.

The Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post and USA Today were among newspapers that canceled the cartoon “Dilbert” after its creator Scott Adams said Black Americans were a hate group and posted racist comments on his YouTube channel on Wednesday.

In replies to tweets about the controversy, the Tesla and Twitter chief executive said the media had long been racist against non-white people but are now “racist against whites & Asians.”

“Maybe they can try not being racist,” Musk tweeted.

In response to an account that said white victims of police violence get a fraction of media coverage compared to Black victims, Musk said the coverage is “Very disproportionate to promote a false narrative.”

Musk did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Musk’s views on social issues have been increasingly under the microscope since he took over Twitter in October.

He has sparred with civil rights groups over Twitter’s level of protection against hateful content and the reinstatement of some accounts that previously had been suspended. Some advertisers have left the platform over concerns about brand safety, and Twitter has rolled out some new controls for ad placement.

Musk’s latest tweets come after the Dilbert creator suggested white Americans “get the hell away from Black people”. Adams, the cartoonist, was responding to a poll by the conservative Rasmussen Reports that said 26% of Black respondents said they disagreed with the statement “It’s OK to be white.”

The move to drop the cartoon was “not a difficult decision”, the Plain Dealer newspaper in Ohio told its readers on Friday.
