TikTok star’s incredible Sabrina Carpenter makeup transformation goes viral

Social media star and makeup artist Christian Perez, aka Indigo, has left fans gagged, gooped and gasping with his transformation into singer Sabrina Carpenter.

The US-based YouTuber, who is known for using makeup to create dramatic transformations into characters, including SpongeBob SquarePants and Shrek, was challenged by a fan to turn into the 25-year-old “Espresso” singer.

After working late (because he’s a painter, or something) to perfect the look, the artist shared his jaw-dropping metamorphosis from beefy social media star to the chart-topping, former Disney Channel star.

Somehow, with a bit of blush, lip gloss and foundation, Perez managed to capture Carpenter’s look perfectly – even getting her eyes near-enough spot on.

His fans and other social media users are understandably in shock at the mind-boggling look, with one post featuring the video being viewed more than 1.3 million times on X/Twitter.

Perez’s TikTok has been seen almost 600,000 times, although Carpenter herself is yet to respond!

One person commented that they were “absolutely terrified with how good” the transformation was, and another said: “It looks so good and disturbing at the same time.”

A third wrote: “Nothing could have prepared me for that,” while someone else declared: “This just made my whole year.”

“Espresso” has been at number one in the UK charts for four weeks now, while it’s Carpenter’s first song to hit the top 10 in the US.

Many fans have dubbed it the undisputed song of the summer, and even pop superstar Adele has given it the seal of approval.

Perez has also impressed fans with transformations into Lana Del Rey, Megan Fox, Jojo Siwa, Margot Robbie and Ariana Grande.

‘Top Models’ go bottomless in German series’ wild challenge that’s leaving everyone soaked

Image Credits: ‘Germany’s Next Topmodel,’ ProSieben

When it comes to reality television, few shows are as iconic—for all the right and wrong reasons—as America’s Next Top Model.

The brainchild of supermodel Tyra Banks, the series saw a group of aspiring models (initially all women) compete in increasingly absurd challenges that involved themed photoshoots, runway walks, faux commercials, and more, all to see who’d wind up on top, winning a coveted modeling contract.

Even if you never watched the show, chances are you’re very familiar with countless moments that have become memes (“I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you!,” among many, many others) and more—even RuPaul himself has said Drag Race was initially inspire by the show.

To put it bluntly: ANTM changed pop culture as we know it.

It’s also been plagued with controversy since the very beginning.

Body-shaming, weird racial politics, challenges that seemed designed to humiliate the contestants, harsh critiques from judges that felt way too personal, numerous stories of behind-the-scenes drama… it was a mess! And it only looks much, much worse in hindsight.

While it remained on air for a shockingly long time (24 seasons between 2003 and 2018!), it’s probably for the best that ANTM has been put to rest for now. Unless it came back with some serious re-tooling—more inclusive casting, less problematic challenges, etc…—there’s just no way the series could survive in today’s media landscape.

Janice Dickinson on falling out with Tyra Banks, stealing Trump’s limo, &
Madonna’s latest look

Janice Dickinson has seen and done it all and is spilling the tea to Queerty. The self-proclaimed “world’s first supermodel” served face on all the major fashion magazines, sashayed down the fiercest runways, and proved to be a force to be reckoned with on “America’s Next Top Model.” Now 20 years after the premiere on […]

But apparently Germany doesn’t have an issue with any of that!

That’s right, Germany’s Next Topmodel is still going strong. (We can’t explain why, but we love the smashing together of “Top” and “Model” into one word for the title.)

Currently in its 19th season, it’s the longest-running international adaptation of ANTM, and it’s been hosted the entire time by Heidi Klum, who somehow managed to do this between other gigs like Project Runway, America’s Got Talent, and Making The Cut. (Girl, do you need a nap?)

In many ways, GNTM has faced backlash, criticisms, and controversies similar to its American counterpart, though it’s made frequent tweaks and attempts to improve itself. For example, in 2021, it named its first trans winner, Alex-Mariah Peter—who was only the second trans model franchise-wide to win after Loiza Lamers on Holland’s Next Top Model in 2015.

And for its most recent cycle, GNTM has male models competing for the very first time! Which is probably why a recent challenge has managed to makes its way to our (very gay) social media feeds…

Jay Manuel shares more war stories about working with Tyra Banks on ‘Top Model’ and YIKES!

Jay Manuel is opening up about the “fear culture” on the hit modeling show, as well as how Tyra Banks reacted when he told her he was quitting.

In one of the competition’s latest episodes, the remaining contestants were tasked with facing the elements in a revealing photoshoot, which had them standing in a giant pool while being blasted with artificial rainfall and wind machines. Oh yeah, and they were wearing nothing but see-through ponchos and boots.

You can watch it all go down in the clip below, which is in German by the way, but come on do you really even need to know what’s being said?

Best we can tell from YouTube’s auto-translated captions, the models were wearing some form of adhesive cover-up under there, but we have to imagine whatever it is is pretty skimpy considering the show’s generous use of a modesty blur.

Still, the whole thing’s pretty revealing as the contestants let it all hang out in front of Heidi, their photographer, and the production crew. In the end, everyone is soaking wet. Literally.

That time Tyra Banks told a model not to be proud about being gay has come back to haunt her

Old clips from “America’s Next Top Model” have been recirculating online and they have not aged well.

Is this another “classic Top Model challenge” (derogatory) that pushes its models to uncomfortable, potentially embarrassing places for the sake of television? Or is this just something they all knowingly signed up for when they joined the show. Opinions are likely to vary, especially as American audiences catch wind of (pun intended, we guess?) the photoshoot.

But, hey, the models seem to be having fun, and those photos turned out pretty cool—and tasteful—so, Top Model‘s gonna Top Model we suppose!

Check out a few shot’s from Germany’s Next Topmodel below:

Even Suicide Squad’s Mr Freeze isn’t safe from being ‘transvesitgated’ after reported image leaks

Ill-intentioned gamers are speculating that Mr Freeze may be trans in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League after images reportedly showing the character’s design were leaked.

The term transvestigating, a mash-up of the words “trans” and “investigating”, refers to a conspiracy theory that an individual, typically a woman, is actually transgender and hiding it.

A screenshot of designs for the androgynous-looking Mr Freeze were allegedly first leaked by independent journalist Miller Ross, but quickly faced a copyright notification.

The picture shows Freeze with short, spikey hair which, of course, right-wing bigots cannot abide.

Various publications and pundits have been wracking their brains trying to figure out whether this incarnation of Mr Freeze is trans, which has yet to be confirmed, while proclaiming that the Warner Bros Interactive title is officially woke.

Some have decided that the character is a trans woman, while others said the new villain is a “non-binary Karen they/them”, while studying the character’s chest for proof.

“Now they’ve made a character transgender. Take note of Mrs Freeze’s chest,” one user wrote. “That’s not a woman.”

The conspiracy theories continued with some claiming that Warner Bros Interactive was trying to “push transgenderism” and that the game’s poor sales were due to “wokeness.”

While the 2024 video game reportedly lost $200 million (£157 million) in the first quarter of this year, reviewers mostly agreed that this was due to the game’s less-than-desirable gameplay and a perceived lack of support from developer Rocksteady.

The looter shooter’s update in May didn’t help the game’s dwindling reputation, with users commenting negatively on a set of new character skins for the various members of the squad.

Nonetheless, anti-trans right-wingers have continued to blame the game’s lack of success on Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy’s same-sex romance while transvestigating Freeze’s new design.

Transvestigating has become a common occurrence among anti-trans groups, particularly gamers, who claim that realistic depictions of women, such as Mary Jane from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 or Aloy, in the Horizon series, are secretly transgender.

The conspiracies can affect real people, too, with notable names, including Taylor Swift, Serena Williams, Michelle Obama and even Paul McCartney, being subjected to transvestigation.

Why IKEA’s shark toy Blahaj is a celebrated trans icon

To most people, it’s a simple shark toy. But to trans people, IKEA’s Blahaj is a symbol and signifier of the transgender community.

The polyester plushie, which is available online or in store for £22 ($28), has been a symbol of trans rights since about 2017. Its significance started on Tumblr, when users across the social media site began sharing memes of the shark.

Initially, the memes were of the shark doing various things or being in odd places but as the number of them grew, more and more they began to be associated with transgender people.

The memes migrated on to other social media sites and began to dominate image search results when looking up blahaj.

Since then, it has essentially become the mascot for trans rights and a signifier of support for the transgender community.

Speaking to Newsweek in 2002, transgender TikTok star Fiadh said: “It’s a weird sense of trans solidarity. The fact that it’s become a huge internet sensation for trans people gives us something to connect with others about.

“Things that help us connect with other trans people online are important because for a lot of trans folks the only way to be able to connect with people like us is through the internet.”

The shark toy has forged such as strong link with the LGBTQ+ community that it was even featured in an IKEA advert supporting same-sex marriage, following the Swiss government’s equality vote in 2021.

The advert depicts Blahaj cuddling IKEA’s polar bear, Snuttig, along with text that translates as “the bed for everyone”.

A sub-Reddit dedicated to Blahaj has gained 103,000 members, staying true to the original meme with images showing the shark doing silly things.

Why Blahaj of all the plushies that IKEA offers was chosen will never quite be understood but, like many memes and signifiers of the community, it has become a mainstay mascot for trans people everywhere.

Blahaj has 132 five-star reviews, many of them odes to the shark and everything it has done for the community.

“Oh my dear Blahaj,” one reviewer wrote. “The days waiting for him were pure agony, but when I got him, something changed, I reached enlightenment, Valhalla, and was in pure bliss.

“He is Blahaj, he is beauty and he is mine, at last. My family thinks I have an unhealthy obsession with him and even if I did, it is rightly so. He is the most inspiring creature I have ever met. Ever since I opened that plastic, clear bag, I knew he was perfect.”
